Beaver Island Rural Health Center

Ways to Give

ANNUAL APPEAL:   The Health Center’s Annual Appeal occurs in the fall, however gifts are welcome at any time.  Annual Appeal donations are applied to either the Health Center’s Endowment Fund or Special Projects Fund.  The donor gets to designate which fund they wish to support. There is no minimum amount.  Make your Annual Appeal gift in whatever amount feels right for you

ENDOWMENT FUND:  The Endowment Fund provides the Rural Health Center with long-term financial resources.  Endowment funds are invested and each year a portion of the Endowment Fund’s income is used for Rural Health Center programs and services, while the rest of the return is re-invested to preserve and grow.

SPECIAL PROJECTS FUND:  The Special Projects Fund was established to offer the Health Center flexibility and responsiveness for addressing unexpected health issues or for addressing special needs, such as the acquisition of new equipmentment, technology upgrades and similar unique needs.

LEGACY TREE SOCIETY:

Legacy TreeEvery family has a family tree, and we invite you to be a part of ours. Legacy Tree giving is designed to multiply a gift far beyond its original amount, creating a perpetual stream of income for the BIRHC by adding Legacy Tree gifts to the Center’s Endowment Fund.

To be a part of the BIRHC Legacy Tree Society, all you need to do is plant the seeds with your generosity.  We offer three recognition levels:

  • LEAVES – $10,000: Leaves are very important for trees – they provide food for the whole tree.  We see this as the fastest way to grow into this donation program.
  • ACORNS – $15,000: The tree that produces acorns is the oak and the Oak tree is one of the most loved trees in the world, and with good reason. It’s a symbol of strength, morale, resistance and knowledge. Consider a donation at this level as a way to strengthen and further the BIRHC’s health mission.
  • BOULDERS – $25,000+: Boulders can shade tree seedlings from harsh elements. Buddy rocks allow trees to survive and grow. A donation of $25,000 or more will stay with the BIRHC ensuring our success in providing health care that enriches our communities quality of life and makes our Island community an attractive place to live.
Recognition:  The BIRHC Legacy Tree is prominently located on the Center’s waiting room wall. The leaves, acorns and boulders that are on or around the Legacy Tree are available for custom inscriptions. Inscriptions may include donors’ names and /or honor living or deceased family members or friends. Flexibility:  Legacy Tree pledges may be fulfilled over a period of up to 5 years. Gifts of securities as well as cash may be accepted. If you are interested in becoming a Legacy Tree member, please let our financial partner, the Charlevoix County Community Foundation, assist you with planning your gift. Contact your Human Services office to find out if your organization has a matching gift program.

PLANNED GIVING:

In certain instances, it may be preferable from an estate, financial, and tax planning perspective to consider long-term gift planning as the best way to make a gift to the Health Center.
